Out on my afternoon hike with my dog, and new camera in tow like usual - I noticed the familiar huge dark shadow gliding across the trail.
Looked up and noticed a Turkey Vulture soaring above. He was by himself but just a few feet above my head. I snapped a few shots (still not used to this camera but will get it), then his buddy came, and another, and another...until I had 4 Turkey Vultures cicling just above my head.
Unless they were privy to some information that I wasn't (heh heh heh) - I KNEW they were circling something aside from myself. So I trotted up the trail about 6 more feet and saw a couple fresh carcasses they were claiming.
I took pictures of the birds, but wanted to spare everyone photos of the carcasses. It will be interesting if I can get some good shots this week of the the evening critters...hopefully I will catch the bears and the elusive Bobcat that has been up to the backdoor lately.
